The Russians are Laughing?

Posted in Uncategorized on November 1, 2009 by christianradio

I was sent this from a friend. Even if it’s not totally true, it’s eye opening. America, we’re too young to die.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America .

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America ’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe .

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bail out after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less than two months ago, warned Obama and UK ’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “freeman” whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

God, Man and the Bible

Posted in Uncategorized on July 26, 2009 by christianradio

This week my daughter in-law expressed an interest in knowing more about God. She’s a new believer, so I brought along a lesson we went through in our Sunday school class in church, called “God, Man and the Bible.” It’s written by Steve Raemisch, our associate pastor.

I’ve been going through it so I was prepared to take our family through it and I must say it’s so amazing. It’s amazing that God’s Word has survived throughout the centuries. It’s a amazing that the story of original has been preserved. It’s amazing that even before the foundations of time, God had His plan of salvation all laid out for sinful man. It’s amazing that God gives it FREELY to us and it’s nothing we can do to earn it. It’s amazing that he gives sinful people the desire to please Him and serve and to learn more about Him.

Although, going through it, I’m reminded that I have failed in my walk as a believer in Christ. I don’t have enough moments in His Word. I don’t pray enough. I don’t make enough efforts to share my faith with others. I don’t love people the way I should. I don’t always have a desire to love people.

Is this discouraging to me?  Yes, and no. Yes it’s discouraging to know that I fail Him. That I don’t always walk according to His word. It’s discouraging that I don’t do the things I want to do, but still do the things I don’t want to do. But, it’s encouraging to know that God is still working on me because He continues to give me a desire to follow after Him, read about Him and to please Him. It’s encouraging to know that despite my sin, He’s faithful to restore me, even though I don’t deserve it.

It’s Sunday. A day I should be with fellow believers, but today it’s nice to know that I’m abiding with my Father. I understand that He’s my guide. That’s He’s called me to be his follower. It’s a huge calling, but I’m up for the challenge.

Pray for my family this week as we go through this study. Pray that we won’t be distracted and that we’ll make great progress in understand the truths of His Word.

Vacation – yeah!

Posted in Family, life, spiritual on July 25, 2009 by christianradio

It’s day one of my summer vacation. I have been looking forward to this for soooo long.  For the past couple of year, vacation for the Yoder family has been traveling 4 hours away to the family cottage on the northeast side of Michigan along the coast of Lake Huron. I grew up coming to this cottage, built by my grandfather in 1955.

There are so many memories ‘up north.’ Each year, we have traveled to ‘the cottage’ along with my four grown kids, grand-kids, and my my nine year old daughter. It is heart-warming to hear how much they look forward to this one week in the summer where we can just relax, play games, swim, play in the sand and soak in the sun.

For me this is a time to not only renew myself with my family, but to renew my life to God. I spend almost every morning (weather permitting) with a frest cup of coffee, and read God’s Word outside on the beach. What a blessing to be able to take my time going through God’s word.

Stay tuned. I hope to blog about my time with the Lord all week.

Obama, the smartest president?

Posted in Politics on May 6, 2009 by christianradio

The media continues it’s frenzied ‘worship’ of a man who Sean Hannity calls, “the chosen one.”  I’m amazezd at the kind of questions President Obama is getting from the national press and the coverage he’s getting. At a recent press conference, Jeff Zeleny of the New York Times asked President Obama very difficult question, “What has enchanted you during your first 100 days in office?”

“Enchanted”?  What’s that supposed to mean? I could think of more important questions:

1. Why did you think it necessary to spend more of the nation’s taxpayers money in the first 100 days of your presidency than the previous president spent in eight years in office?”
2. Why did the Obama administration threaten Chrysler leaders into bankruptcy?
3. Why did the Obama administration release top secret documents about interrogation techniques putting our country in more danger, but the administration won’t release pictures of the $300,000 plus Air Force One photos over New York City?

So far, I haven’t heard any substantial answers to any of these questions.

What has happened to the press that’s supposed to look out for the American people? Why have they cozied up to any political party. They’re supposed to be a part of the checks and balances system that makes the United States a Republic. Why have they abandoned their journalistic integrity?

Had President Bush made these types of decisions the press would have had a field day. They would have gone back through the history of the world and crafted reports telling the world about the failure of socialism and how President Bush was on a road to utter failure. They would have called for his impeachment for bankrupting the United States and pushing our economy into a depression. They would be asking difficult questions about why his cabinet selections were so corupt. Each decision would be under a microscope.

But, not this president. He gets a pass. Where are the tough questions? Where is the public outcry?

The amazing thing is that the media outlets that are, are going to be punished, are the ones who are doing their jobs — Fox News and talk radio.  They have asked the hard questions. Unfortunately, those who are asking the questions are being marginalized by the left. They’re either called right wing extremists who have lost touch with the American people, or they’re told their misinformed and lied to.

I’m also tired of hearing that Obama is smart and President Bush is so stupid. Obama graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School.  Bush graduated from Yale. Bush actually had BETTER grades in Yale compared to Senator John Kerry. Compared with Al Gore, they were about equal in their scores. But, unfortunately, President Obama didn’t release his scores. We know he graduated from Columbia, but without honors, which is below a 3.3 grade point average. However, he did graduate Harvard Law SchoolMagna Cum Laude, which, according to the Havard Law School website, is awarded to the top 10% of Harvard Law School students.

However, it does take a bright man to understand that you can’t spend money you don’t have. President Obama’s first 100 days in office have been expensive.  Since his inauguration, the President has signed into law $1.19 trillion in new spending.  That’s $11.9 billion of spending for each day he has been in office. And the liberals thought President Bush spent a lot. Is that intelligent.

I’m beginning to understand what happens in the end times when The Beast takes over the world. The person is worshiped. Even though it’s clear the evil this person commits, people follow blindly. It’s amazing that we’re seeing the beginning of blind faith that could lead this country to economic and political destruction.

The good news is that God is in control. Perhaps this is exactly what this country deserves. Throughout history He’s brough powerful countries to their knee because of the sin of the people. With the government support of same sex mariage, abortion on demand, so called Christians preaching ‘another gospel’, and more God can’t be pleased.

Pageant, politics and racism

Posted in Politics, spiritual with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 20, 2009 by christianradio

I am frankly beside myself today. I have always thought we live in a free nation. The United States — the land of the free and the home of the brave. I now have a different view. While our country was founded on those principles, I now believe our leaders (President Obama and the Democrat controlled legislature) want that to end. The frightening thing about it is there are influential people who want our country to dramatically change as well. Even more scary is that most of the American people DON’T care. The Democrats are unquestioningly following. And, Republicans are afraid to do anything about it.

Let’s start with the Miss USA pageant over the weekend. According to the Christian Science Monitor, Miss California Carrie Prejean (a Christian candidate) answers a question from judge Perez Hilton about legalizing same-sex marriage during the Miss USA Pageant. “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage,” Prejean said. “And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

Looking at blogs and other commentaries, many say Miss California lost the pageant because of her answer to the question. Maybe I shouldn’t be so amazed. It appears the United States has reached a new ’sinful’ low. We’ve penalized a women for having strong character, who’s wholesome, ethical, and stands on her convictions. It’s amazing that she would be penalized for believing in something that may not be politically correct. To allow someone like Perez Hilton (an outspoken homosexual and blogger) be a judge on a television show that’s supposed to be an example to young women around the country.

I shouldn’t be surprised. Because, soon, it will be illegal to say anything negatively about homosexuality. News reports indicate a vote is looming this week in Congress on a bill that one conservative activist warns would not only silence Christian opposition to homosexuality, but also would legitimize deviant forms of “sexual orientation.” According to OneNewsNow.com A markup vote is expected Wednesday in the House Judiciary Committee on the Local Law Enforcement and Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009.  House Democrats only have to give 24 hours’ notice before the vote.  The measure (H.R. 1913) sponsored by Representatives John Conyers (D-Michigan) and Mark Kirk (R-Illinois) would add homosexuals and transgender people to the list of classes federally protected from so-called “hate crimes.”

Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the Traditional Values Coalition, says the bill is a serious threat to religious freedom.

“Your pastor could be prosecuted for conspiracy to commit a hate crime if it passes and become law,” she warns. “This so-called ‘hate crimes’ bill will be used to lay the legal foundation and framework to investigate, prosecute, and persecute pastors, business owners, Bible teachers, Sunday School teachers, youth pastors — you name it — or anyone else whose actions are based upon and reflect the truth found in the Bible.”

Now, a character on my favorite TV show has got me pretty ticked off. She’s called me and millions of other Americans, racists.  Janeane Garofalo, who plays Janis Gold on the television series 24, says the people who attended tea parties are racists with dysfunctional brains.  Here’s her quote:

“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It’s not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don’t know their history at all. It’s about hating a black man in the White House,” she said on MSNBC’s “The Countdown” with Keith Olbermann Thursday evening. “This is racism straight up and is nothing but a bunch of *!(%#!~ rednecks. There is no way around that.”

I am not a racist, but I am opposed to Socialism and government spending MY money like there is no end to it. I am opposed to the president of the United States bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia and giving legitimacy to rouge leaders, i.e. Venezuela and Cuba. I’m also opposed the president giving aid to our enemies by releasing highly classified “Top Secret” documents about interrogation techniques. I’m also tired of hearing Obama apologize to the world for the United States. He’s caving in and it’s hard to stomach that Obama is going to give away part of the United States in order to make him look good. Those kinds of issues aren’t racist. Those are issues that violate the sovereignty our our nation. Obama is trying to re-write the constitution and American history. It’s sad.

Where does that leave us? On our knees before God pleading for mercy. Asking God to bring revival in a nation that’s rejected Him. Come Lord Jesus, come quickly.

In Honor of the 44th President of the United States , Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has issued a new flavor, ” Barocky Road ..”

Barocky Road is a blend of half Vanilla, half Chocolate, and surrounded by Nuts and Flakes.

The Vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient.

The Nuts and Flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.

The Cost is $100.00 per scoop.

When purchased, it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but then the Ice Cream is taken away and given to the person in line behind you.

Thus you are left with an empty wallet, no change, holding an empty cone, with no hope of getting any Ice Cream.

Aren’t you feeling stimulated?

AND…..

Read and become enlightened!

I became confused when I heard these terms with reference to the word
’service’.

Revenue ‘Service’
Postal   ‘Service’
Telephone ‘Service’
Cable  ‘Service’
Civil ‘Service’
Customer ‘Service’
State, City &  County  Public ‘Service’

This is not what I thought ’service’ meant.

But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had
hired a bull to come ’service’ a few cows.  BAM!!!  It all came into
focus..Now I understand what all those ’service’ agencies are doing to us.

I hope you are now as enlightened as I am.

For the first time in my adult life, I have taken my family on a spring break trip. My sister and brother in-law are serving at a church in North Carolina. So, we decided to leave the cold of Michigan to travel to NC for a break.  To tell you about this, I have to go back a week.

A week ago (March 27). Because I was going to be away on a men’s retreat, my wife decided to go to New York to see our married son and grand kids. Unfortunately, when she go to Port Huron, MI (three hours away), the transmission in our car went out. Forutnately, the day before I decided to buy her a GPS to help in her navigation. When the car broke down she could just barely limp along. The GPS got her to a Chevy Dealer by taking the back roads. She got there safely. The dealer, gave her a rental, and sent her on her way.

Fortunately, the transmission was covered by an extended warrantee that we had purchased when we bought the car. But, because it was a Japanese transmission they weren’t able to get parts quickly. Long story short, it took them nearly a week to get the parts they needed and they weren’t able to get the car done in time. So, we had to take my 2001 Buick. It has nearly 100,000 miles. So, at 8:30 pm Friday, we started on our way…a 13 hour trip.

I love driving at night. I decided to would try to make a little past Cincinnati and look for a hotel. We made it there at around 1:00 am, but there weren’t any hotels available. Not thinking EVERYONE would be stopping around Cincinnati because of SPRING BREAK, we kept driving. We drove another hour before we found a Motel 6 who, “left the light up for us.”  We slept until 8:00 am and got back on the road.

We drove to Gatlinburg, TN where my wife, Ann, visited with an old friend. We had lunch and spent some time laughing and got on our way to NC.

We arrived at around 5:45 and traveled directly to the cabin we rented. Through the winding roads in the foothills of the smokies. We passed horse farms and streams. It was so beautiful. Our cabins are about 15 minutes from town, but it feels like it’s out in the middle of no-where. The great thing is the cabin has cable and wi-fi. So, as soon as I got the car unpacked I turned on the Michigan State vs UConn game. To my utter joy, MSU was in the lead.

What an exciting game. We watch the first half, leaving the cabin to go visit my sister and her family nearby. It took the entire half to get there and we arrived JUST in time to watch the second half. It was a great battle, but MSU got the upper hand with it’s up-beat style offense and tough defence and pulled off a great victory to win the semi-final game of the Final Four.

So, Monday will be a lot of fun. I’m in NORTH CAROLINA. I’ll be cheering for MICHIGAN STATE with my Green and White MSU hat and shirt. My goal is to go a location where there A LOT of North Carolina fans and be the ONLY MSU fan cheering my loudest for the Spartans.  Wait — no, I have a wife and kids.  I think I just watch it with my sister and her family. No, I’m not a chicken — I just don’t want to get hurt while I’m on vacation.

GO STATE!!!

Terror in the United States

I ran across the video of Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. If you haven’t heard it before, it could scare you to death. Listen to it carefully.

This could be why the United States isn’t mentioned in the end times.

Worship in silence can be moving

Posted in Family, Health, Job, life, spiritual on March 1, 2009 by christianradio

I knew today would be difficult. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Today, I was dreading it.For those of you who know me, I love to sing. Not just to sing, but sing in worship of a Holy God. I really don’t enjoy it otherwise.

But, today was different. Today, I would be worshiping God WITHOUT singing, without talking, without verbally praying and even without whispering. I would be confessing sin, adoring God and praising whoGod is without a voice of any kind.

This is the second time in my life I’ve done this. But, it was a totally different response from my first. 16 years ago I went through a similar situation where I lost my voice and couldn’t participate in worship, but the whole time I kept feeling sorry for myself. Each second was focused on, “What if I never sing again? Will I ever be able to talk with a clear voice? What would happen to my career? God, I don’t understand.”

Today, I only asked that question once. And, the reply I heard was, “Greg, it’s NOT your voice. I gave it to you. I’m the one using it. I’m the one who gave you the idea to sing. I’m the one who gave you that gift. And, I’m the one who CAN and did take it away.” That’s when I said, “You’re right — who am I to say ANYTHING.” So, I spent the remainder of my time in church marveling at how incredible it is that I have a relationship with God at all.

The songs that were selected were ordained by God (as they are every Sunday). But, I sensed they were for me today. Each one made me turn to Christ. Each one reassured me that everything was okay because God is in TOTAL control. He’s not depending and waiting on me. He’s not putting his trust in a doctor’s ability to treat me. In fact, He’s ordained everything.

Then Bible study hour came and I think I may understand why trials come in people’s lives. Let me give you my perspective.

In 2 Peter 1:10 is says, “Therefore, be even more diligent to make your calling (salvation) sure.” In 2 Corinthians 13:5 is says, “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith.” While may say it’s a ’sin’ to question your faith, the New Testament talks about it more than once. It looks like a command to me. The problem for me is, I really don’t WANT to. I don’t want to test my faith and force myself to question the foundation on which I stand. If I don’t want to, wouldn’t you think God is going to do something to FORCE me to do it?

I think so. I think because I like my comfortable world, God shakes it. He wants to see what I’m made of. He wants to test my faith, I’M suppose to be “diligent in making my calling sure.” He wants me to examine myself as to whether I’m in the faith. When He rocks our world with life changing moments we will either fall on our face before HIM (if we’re in the faith), or we’ll cry out with disgust to Him for making our lives miserable. He wants these moments to be precious times we won’t forget because they’re life changing.

When my friend Dan Cummings was struggling with cancer, I couldn’t understand how he could say his cancer was a blessing from God. I just couldn’t wrap my arms around that. NOW I CAN. I finally see that in Dan’s cancer, he was forced to be closer to God than he’d ever been. He understood that this was a test from God, not to be a mean God, but to put Dan in a position of total reliance on Him.

While my voice problem isn’t ANYTHING like cancer, my lack of voice could have a devastating effect on my career. But, for the first time I can honestly say — “this IS a blessing from God.” If it weren’t for my lack of voice, I wouldn’t have been able to witness one of the most incredible worship services ever. While I shed lots of tears, they weren’t self pity tears. They were tears of utter joy that God loves me so much. Why?  It’s only because of His Amazing Grace.

That’s not to say I won’t get frustrated. I’m human. But, now I understand what’s going on.
